South China Morning Post (SCMP) plans launch of RedeeME, a new upscale group buying website

HONG KONG -- Media OutReach- 16 December 2011- South China Morning Post revealed its plans to launch a new luxury discount offer website, targeting the discerning and upscale tastes of its typical readership profile.

Entitled 'RedeeME', the new website offers deeply discounted deals in Hong Kong's hotels, quality spas, wining and dining establishments, other leisure hotspots and more, for up to 70% off the usual published retail price.

'RedeeME' leverages the growing trend of online group buying discounts and hones in on the more affluent segment of the community, who have different tastes and consumption patterns. Featuring high-end or boutique merchants with a focus on quality rather than quantity, the site has a more exclusive appeal, and is based on the premise that even the wealthy like to spend carefully.

"We are very excited about this new site and the possibilities it gives to both our readers and advertisers" remarked Sophia Yu, Director of Advertising and Marketing Services. "RedeeME opens up greater social engagement and dialogue with our database of readers, and allows us to offer something of value that is relevant to their needs and lifestyle."

Officially launching on Wednesday January 4th 2012, RedeeME will be promoted with the advertising campaign premise "Live the high life at a reduced price". Handpicked, premium merchants will be featured in the site, and the unique, limited-time offers will have a focus on quality, experience and value.

"What our new service brings our advertisers is the unique target of known quality affluent shoppers. Our audiences are willing to spend for the finer things in life, be that a premium brick-oven pizza, hand-made chocolates from Venezuela, or an exclusive spa holiday. By offering RedeeME to our advertisers, we enable them to get prominent exposure to a guaranteed and profiled audience, while showcasing their products in a brand-enhancing premium environment -- away from inappropriate or mass-market products -- which might create unwanted associations and impact their brands negatively."

"We have the added advantage of being able to market RedeeME not only via social channels but also through the South China Morning Post, our magazines and publications, scmp.com and through our many partner channels, ensuring we reach quantity as well as quality audiences."

Offers on RedeeME will be featured for one week at the RedeeME site (www.redeeme.com.hk) and deal buyers will be emailed coupons to exchange at the merchant outlet for their purchase.

The service has been developed in conjunction with Lokaly, recently acquired by Dealised.
