The "Highly Commended" title is the top level of accreditation awarded and is an acknowledgement of FIDN's commitment to education and the ongoing improvement of its services to provide the best outcomes for renal patients.
Among the positive attributes cited in awarding the accreditation to FIDN was its "extremely well developed programme underpinned by sound curriculum processes and a clear approach to student experience."
EDTNA/ERCA with membership covering more than 70 countries was established to address the special educational needs of nurses and other healthcare professionals caring for patients who suffer from chronic kidney disease.
FIDN was founded in 2006 to educate and mentor Registered Nurses in the highly specialized clinical and technological skills required to treat patients needing acute renal replacement and chronic dialysis therapies. These graduates play a leading role in supporting physicians, clinicians and health authorities in providing optimum care.
The accreditation, which runs from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017, was accepted by FIDN Senior Director Suzie Burford during the 43rd EDTNA Conference held in Riga, Latvia on 6-9 September.
